Just a quick rundown of things that have been on my mind lately.

1) The legacy of Hilary Duff: I admit that I like Hilary Duff movies (well the Disney ones at least). I’m probably way too old to like this stuff by at least 20 years, but whatever, I own a house, I’m in shape, have several degrees and a career, so I’m entitled to like sickeningly upbeat TV movies.

Frontin' on Cadet Kelly? Yeah, I DON'T THINK SO

These movies are generally pretty  positive. If Cadet Kelly or A Cinderella Story is on, I watch it. They aren’t particularly funny or well-written, the dialogue is pretty bad and the plots paper-thin. But there is something charming about them, and Hilary is always bubbly and optimistic. She needs to start showing up at these silly Health Care shouting matches and convince everyone to work together. If Cadet Kelly and that mean girl, Cadet Jennifer, can get along, a bunch of white people pretending to be angry over “Socialism” (we all know it’s because they are afraid of black people) surely can.

BTW, skip Another Cinderella Story. Not charming in the least; it’s all about the posturing and the break dancing. Plus the lead actress has a pea-head.

Hüsker Dü: Greatest band of all-time, bar none. ALERT! Need a copy of their live show from Trenton City Gardens, ca. 1985…a guy who has a blog called shortwaverockin has a copy but I can’t seem to be able to post comments on his site so he can upload this show again. If anyone can help let me know.

Only 9 months ’til the kickoff of the Snow’s season. I’m pretty optimistic about year two, although I have every reason not to be. See? Cadet Kelly again. Don’t question it.
