About Us
Originally, Penn’s Army was conceived as a full-on supporter’s club for the Pennsylvania Stoners (now FC Sonic). So in 2008 we purchased the requisite flag and drum and attended each match and yelled and made a lot of noise. There was even talk of trying to purchase a used flugelhorn. It was useless, since cheering by fans other than ourselves only took place between discussions of diaper bags and Aunt Ruthy’s rheumatism. Eventually we realized that a supporters club for this level of soccer was unrealistic: most of the people attending matches were usually the player’s families, or kids and soccer moms from local teams. Yet we soldiered on.
